May 16, 2007 07:25 PM PDT
TOPICS COVERED
NOTE - Audio quality of the recording was severely compromised this week. Huge apologies to our many podcast listeners ... sorry for making you suffer through it and we'll make sure it doesn't happen again!
NEXT WEEK - Due to the transition from Wednesdays to Saturdays, there will be no show next week! We'll resume broadcasting on Saturday May 26th with an interview of Skype representatives and the official start of the OtterBox contest!
INTERVIEW NEWS and CONTEST ALERT
Check out our Interview and Contest Pages for more interview information and for details on the upcoming OtterBox contest (nothing there yet, but regular listeners and podcastees can send an email to techtalk@wrlr.fm today if you want first bid to be included!)
News
- Skype partners with Walmart
- The Blackberry Pearl - good or not? A caller wants info!
- Shouts out to CDW for helping with our stream problems and setting us up with a nice inexpensive machine!
- Furry-vision, mobile smell-o-phonic, and ctrl-alt-del.icious waffle keyboards!
MAIN TOPIC
Just jabbing about my new drive enclosure, and some of the 'problems' I had!
One of the possible solutions is to be had at TechGuy Forums, but the one that actually worked for me was from Shel Daltry's site. He's a bankruptcy lawyer or some thing, but shouts out to Shel!
COOL SITE(s) OF THE WEEK
CNet Free Music Downloads - I know it's not Last.fm or like that, but this is a nice place to sample DRM-free mp3's from some of your favorite (or soon to be) artists.
TellMe - This beta service at 1-800-555-TELL gives you weather, sports, horoscopes, etc. as well as your standard 411 directory searches ... and all free, natch!
